50-State Rules Library

Source Notes

This expanded prototype uses a cautious official-source model: each state card includes practical planning summaries, filing/evaluation timing, record reminders, high-school notes, and direct links to state education department pages or state statutes where available. It intentionally does not claim to replace official state instructions, district procedures, umbrella-school rules, association requirements, or legal counsel.

  • Official state links: each state card includes direct verification links for that state.
  • U.S. Department of Education: state regulation index for private and home school legal references.
  • HSLDA / national category check: broad no-notice, low, moderate, and high regulation reference categories.
  • State-by-state caution: local-approval states, umbrella-school states, and option-based states may have district, association, or school-specific deadlines.
