Recommended Weekly Rhythm
- Monday: context, vocabulary, preview, initial response.
- Tuesday: close reading, annotation, evidence, inference.
- Wednesday: composition and craft studio.
- Thursday: discussion, feedback, revision, language.
- Friday: quiz, corrections, portfolio, reflection.
Pacing
Each week contains five daily lessons. A daily lesson may be completed in one longer block or split into shorter sessions. Extend a week when a major paper, novel, performance, accommodation, or family schedule requires it; do not skip the evidence and reflection cycle.
Grading
- Weekly quizzes: 30%
- Unit assessments: 25%
- Major projects: 20%
- Midterm: 10%
- Final: 15%
Only entered categories count toward the current grade. The teacher scores written and performance products with rubrics and enters a unit project percentage.
Mastery & Retakes
The default mastery target is 80%. Require corrections before a retake: identify the skill, explain the original error, cite the relevant rule or evidence, and show the corrected reasoning. Retain the best score while preserving attempt history.
Differentiation & Access
- Chunk text and tasks without reducing the thinking target.
- Use audio, oral rehearsal, speech-to-text, visual organizers, and vocabulary previews.
- Reduce output length when necessary while preserving evidence and reasoning.
- Offer extended time, quiet setting, breaks, and alternate response modes.
- Use enrichment through additional texts, alternate interpretations, publication, leadership, and original inquiry.
Academic Integrity
Require traceable notes, accurate quotation and paraphrase, source records, drafts, conferences, and oral explanation. Static assessment keys can be found in page source, so use supervision, alternate passages, and teacher questioning when independent test security matters.
Portfolio & Records
Preserve reading logs, attendance, planning, drafts, feedback, revisions, major products, assessment records, corrections, reflections, and the final conference. Export browser data regularly.
