Enzyme-Rate Studio

Investigate a simplified mathematical model of reaction rate, collect synthetic trials, and reason from evidence.

Read before starting

This is a fictional teaching simulation. Values are relative product units/minute, not observed enzyme results, not a clinical prediction, and not validated for any real enzyme. The selected temperature peak and pH center are illustrative only. Do not ingest chemicals, culture unknown organisms, or use hazardous laboratory materials.

Model: rate = 80 × temperature response × pH response × substrate/(substrate+2). The response curves are artificial bell-shaped functions centered at 37°C and pH 7 for learning, not general enzyme laws. Synthetic repeat variation is deterministic and small.

1. Predict and select your variable

Current predicted model baseline: — relative units/min

2. Record and compare model trials

For a fair comparison, perform three trials at setting A, change only one slider, and perform three trials at setting B. This table includes every recorded model trial.

3. Claim, evidence and limitations

Teacher reminder: The variation built into this simulation is a classroom data-handling exercise, not a statistical model of real enzyme measurements. See the reading dataset for an independently supplied, invented comparison.
