Assessment boundary
This week contains public formative review, evidence audit, and correction support only. Protected midterm questions, answer keys, grading logic, and authentication details remain outside the learner-facing repository.
Explicit chemistry instruction
The official midterm is closed-book and supervised. Public browser practice is formative and cannot authenticate official mastery.
After authorized score return, corrections should classify the error: concept, model choice, equation setup, unit conversion, algebra, sign, graph interpretation, or evidence reasoning.
Corrections should rewrite the reasoning chain rather than merely copy a final answer.
Vocabulary: supervised assessment; correction; error analysis; authenticated mastery; protected content.
Worked example
A learner who used grams directly as a stoichiometric ratio should identify the unit-path error, rebuild grams→moles→ratio→grams, and explain why the first method failed.
Guided question
Why is a corrected reasoning chain stronger evidence than copying the correct final answer?
Independent work
- Prepare an error-category checklist.
- After authorized score return, correct one item per error category represented.
- Keep protected item wording out of public notes unless explicitly approved.
Misconception check
Correction work supports learning but does not authorize disclosure of protected exam content.
Formative check
What may the public practice system validly record?
Reveal response
Formative practice performance and corrections, not authenticated official mastery by itself.
Mentor evidence conference
Archaemenes may challenge reasoning and help plan corrections but cannot reveal protected answers or grant official mastery.
Teacher guidance
Foundation: Use correction sentence frames.
Core: Classify and repair reasoning errors.
Extended: Analyze recurring error patterns to plan remediation.
