Consistent and humane assessment

Administration Guide

Before assessment

  • Confirm the correct learner and pathway.
  • Provide scratch paper or print the page.
  • State calculator permissions before beginning.
  • Arrange approved accessibility supports without changing the mathematical target.

During assessment

  • Require independent work for formal scores.
  • Preserve notation, units, and exact values.
  • Record any interruption or accommodation.
  • Do not coach a scored first attempt.

After assessment

  • Save or print the result.
  • Require corrections with explanations.
  • Reteach the identified skill, not merely the item.
  • Use a fresh attempt for reassessment.

Calculator policy

Calculator v4 may be used for graphing, numerical checking, equation solving, and approximation when permitted. Learners must still show a mathematical setup, record settings when relevant, and interpret output. No calculator is required for conceptual items designed to assess exact reasoning.

Completion recommendation

Completion requires the 36-week record, representative portfolio evidence, all unit investigations, mastery evidence, midterm, final, and capstone defense. Local requirements may add attendance or documentation rules.
