Science 9 Safety Agreement

This agreement records a commitment to safe, ethical, accurate scientific work. It does not replace adult supervision, local rules, or the written directions for a specific activity.

I will read the full procedure and safety tier before handling materials. I will stop and ask when materials, supervision, health needs, or conditions differ from the written lesson. I will wear required protective equipment and keep food and drink away from investigations. I will not taste materials, mix unspecified substances, use damaged equipment, culture unknown microorganisms, or use mains electricity. I will protect people, organisms, property, privacy, and the environment. I will record observations and data honestly, including anomalies, mistakes, method changes, incidents, and near misses. I understand that safety takes priority over finishing an experiment or preserving data.
